Introduction

Metatron is an Italian company with a global presence specialising in the research, development, production and marketing of pressure regulators and engine control units for alternative fuels. The headquarters and production are located in Castel Maggiore, Bologna, Italy.

History

1998

Metatron was founded as a spin-off of the Tartarini Group using piston technology on the pressure regulators.

1999

Selected as Iveco's supplier of engine control units and pressure regulators for buses, trucks and vans.
Selected as Fiat's supplier of engine control units and vehicle pressure regulators.

2007

Mass production of the Meta ND1 regulator for installation in cars. Peak production of 120,000 regulators/year.

2008

Expansion into the Asian market with the founding of the company Metatron Shanghai Control System in Shanghai, China.

2010

The Electronics and Application Engineering division is established in Volvera (TO).
Achieved a cumulative production of 360,000 add-on ECUs.

2011

Selected as Chrysler's supplier of pressure regulators for the North American market.
Launch of LNG1 pressure regulator for liquid methane.

2014

Metatron Shanghai reaches 77,000 regulators sold in the Chinese market.

2015

Selected as Scania's supplier of LNG regulators.

Selected as Kamaz's supplier of CNG regulators.

2016

More than 1 million pressure regulators installed.
More than 700,000 ECUs installed.
Launch of the pressure regulator with an integrated shut-off valve for Liquefied natural gas (LNG1 BV).

2017

Metatron Shanghai reaches 102,000 regulators sold in the Chinese market.
Metatron produces more than 154,000 regulators per year.
Selected as MAN's supplier of CNG regulators.

2018

Launch of the Hydrogen Regulator for FCV - 400 hydrogen regulators sold - 88,000 regulators and 67,000 ECUs sold.
